Do YOU let your partner see you without make-up?

29 July 2010

What constitutes a make-up worthy outing? Do you only put a full face of slap on for special occasions or are you the girl who needs lippy to pop to the corner shop?

A new study by www.MyCelebrityFashion.co.uk has revealed how wary some women are of going au natural. Indeed, over a quarter the 1560 women surveyed said their boyfriend had never seen them without make-up.  A staggering one in five women admits they often wake up early to put their make-up on – then get back in bed with their partner, so that he wakes to a vision of loveliness. That’s dedication for you!  Frankly we struggle enough to get up at all, let alone set an alarm early, to preen before sun-up.

Shouldn’t we give men a little more credit? Surely they realise no woman has lashes that perfect and glossy, plum lips, naturally? However nearly 50% of the women questioned also admitted fibbing to their partners, saying they’re make-up free when they're not.

Nearly 70% of those whose boyfriends have never seen them fresh faced claimed they felt ‘less attractive’ without cosmetic aid. Meanwhile, one in 10 admitted they were scared of ‘being dumped’ if their boyfriend saw the real them. How sad is that? It’s worth mentioning, however, that over 80% of these women had been in their relationships for less then six months. We’d be intrigued to check back with them in a year's time. It’ll be pillow face and panda eyes once the honeymoon period's over...
