WTF? Trinny and Susannah move into COMEDY?

17 June 2010

Let us paint you a picture of an average afternoon at Grazia towers. There are about six hundred Krispy Krème donuts nestled alongside some fruit-on-a-stick and in between mouthfuls of assorted treats we see a press release popping into our inbox. And what it tells us is this: Trinny and Susannah are launching a fly-on-the-wall documentary series called ‘Trinny and Susannah: What They Did Next.’

Excellent, we think - we had wondered what T&S had been up to of late, having been uncharacteristically quiet since their ITV series was decommissioned and now it seems we have the answer. At least we THOUGHT we had the answer. But when we turned on the preview of the aforementioned series, we thought we might have accidentally switched on a French and Saunders clip. But no; this shizzle is real.

‘Trinny and Susannah: What They Did Next’ will be premiering as sixteen six-minute installments on every Monday through Thursday from next week and follows the duo on their daily jaunts - hitting doormen and molesting passers by, that sort of thing. The thing is that Grazia Daily are not quite sure what to make of it.

Billed as a ‘behind the scenes reality series’ the programme seems more of a mocumentary than docu-soap, with the twosome sending themselves up in a series of sketches. It definitely looks as if there’ll definitely be some funny moments; their agent telling them “it’s the cut and thrust of modern showbiz I’m afraid. There’ll be other disinfectants”, par example, but we’re confused. Is it real? Is it a spoof? And if it is a spoof, then why have two successful makeover queens decided to branch out into the notoriously difficult to crack world of comedy?

Worryingly, it is really, really, reminding us of the last time a fashionista tried to do a spoof fly-on-the-wall documentary – and that was Victoria Beckham Coming to America...remember?

But enough from us - what do you think? Will you tune in, or do you think T&S should have stuck to their original formula of stripping the public naked and squeezing our jiggly bits into a pair of magic pants? !

So watch the video and then tell us below - do you find it funny?
