A new poll to reveal the top ten most powerful celebs in the country (the criteria being: how well known they are, how well liked and what type of ‘buzz’ surrounds them) has crowned Kylie the most influential star, and the best role model for her fans.
We know what you’re thinking: but she’s Australian. However, research company Millward Browns, who quizzed 2000 people for the survey, said she earned her place on the list, even though she wasn’t born and bred in Blighty.
‘Kylie is widely accepted as an adopted Brit,’ said Mark Husak who led the survey, ‘People know her, like her and she is surrounded by positive buzz.’
George Clooney was the only other non-Brit to appear on the list (at number eight) who was ‘well liked with no negative publicity.’
The bottom end of the scale comes as no surprise, with Amy Winehouse, Katie Price, Tiger Woods and John Terry ranked as poor A-list role models.
Do you agree with the others who ruled supreme on the list. Si Cowell obviously does, if the rumours that Kylie's the new X Factor judge (covering her sis’ maternity leave) are true… If not, which celeb do you think should be top dog?
1) Kylie Minogue
2) Cheryl Cole
3) David Beckham
4) Ant & Dec
5) Joanna Lumley
6) Terry Wogan
7) Jamie Oliver
8) George Clooney
9) Sean Connery
10) Helen Mirren
