Giles, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Prada and Louis Vuitton. We’d never let criticism of these brands bespoil our site. But kitten heels? Kitten? Heels? The practical style was all over the SS10 catwalks. Even Christian Louboutin have produced a pair of courts with medium height heels.
Mums, boys and other people who aren’t interested in fashion think our four-inchers are ridiculous. We think – ridiculously gorgeous, and besides we don’t wear them every day. Yes they do hurt your feet but are lower heels the answer? If you’re on your pins a lot then ballet pumps and all manner of boots are there, plus both brogues and trainers are enjoying a fashion moment.
Kitten heels, the argument goes, are smart yet practical; the best of both worlds. But you can’t run for a bus in them and they’ll pinch your toes. Crucially, they don’t give you that leggy look, and they're not exactly flattering to your calves/ankles.
If you have a job in which you have to dress formally, but you don’t like heels, then lucky for you – the shops will be full of mid-height heels this year. For everyone else, will you jump onto this trend with glee, or will you carry on stalking around town in your skyscraper heels, with a pair of pumps stashed in your handbag?
