Boredom Buster: The Greatest Duets of All Time (according to us)

08 January 2010

We heard some rather amazing news earlier today that needs to be shared, like, now. Brace yourselves everyone - in tonight’s CBB Alex Reid and Dane Bowers will have to sing a live love duet (please God let it be Another Level’s classic, From The Heart!) as part of a task. Will they hold hands, stare lovingly into each others eyes and mean every word à la Kylie and Jason? Who knows, we can only hope.

But this soon-to-be-moment of TV gold got us wondering, what do we think are the best celebrity duets of all time? Well wonder no more dear readers, and check out our favourite 10 duets ever and feel free to add your thoughts below. Enjoy!

10: Starting off the top 10 is a classic, and still one of the best, 1965’s Sonny and Cher’s I Got You Babe.

9: Next up is the song that was stuck in our head for the whole of 1997, Puff Daddy (this was before the millionth name change) and Faith Evan’s I’ll Be Missing You, an ode to her murdered husband, rapper Notorious B.I.G.

8: Seeing as we’ve mentioned it already, no duet list would be complete without the soppiest love song ever, Especially for You by Kylie and Jason

7: It’s one of our fave songs at the moment and is the theme tune for the new Sex and the City film trailer. Excitement! Alicia Keys and Jay-Z take it away…

6: That leads us on nicely to number 6, the hottest husband and wife duo ever, Beyonce and Jay-Z with Crazy In Love. It was the moment that we saw Beyonce in *those* hotpants that we knew we’d be jealous forever.

5: Speaking of B, we’re loving her new duet Video Phone, with queen of crazy Lady Gaga. And Gaga’s returning the favour next month when she releases Telephone, her duet with Beyonce. We can only wonder what the video will look like…

4: The best diva-off ever. Simple as that.

3: It doesn’t get much bigger than David Bowie and Freddie Mercury for Under Pressure. Just don’t let the Jedward version taint your opinion.

2: Taking a very respectable second place is one of the most expensive videos ever made, Michael and Janet Jackson’s Scream.

1: Drum roll please. And at the top spot we’ve got probably the most sung duet at karaoke bars ever, c’mon, like you’ve never done it!
