Apparently not, according to Bond girl Gemma Arterton. ‘If you are a successful woman, and beautiful, in Britain, you are disliked,’ she said.
She’s got us thinking. It doesn’t take a doctorate in psychology to work out jealousy’s got something to do with our national habit of swiping at accomplished, attractive women. After all, they look better in clothes than us, they get hotter men and everything seems to fall into their laps at the click of their perfectly-manicured fingers. They probably don’t even get snowed in, their lives are that perfect.
It’s not fair: they have all the luck.
So maybe that’s why people think it’s OK to have a go at successful, beautiful women – to redress the balance. What do you think?
