Talking Point: the boomerang syndrome

Sienna Miller jude law

It’s that time of year, when all the usually self assured, independent single people of the world start to feel a little bit, well, lonely. Come on, it’s not just us, surely. The whole roaring fire, mulled wine, cosy night in thing isn’t suited to one. All we want for Christmas is, well just about anyone… And even though, come New Year, we know we’ll snap quickly out of this mindset, for the 12 days of Christmas it’s one long continuous struggle, not to sext your ex (especially after few too many eggnogs), ‘Shall we give it another go.’

At least, we can rest assured in the knowledge, celebs aren’t immune to the boomerang syndrome. Last night Sienna and Jude enjoyed another secret rendezvous, meeting at a local coffee shop in New York. This news comes after Jude was spotted leaving Sienna’s apartment, early doors, on Saturday morning. It’s been four years since the couple split, in which times they’ve amassed fourteen new loves between them (including Sienna controversial relationship with Balthazar Getty and Jude’s procreation with Samantha Burke).

While the pair is adamant they’re ‘just good friends’ those in their outer circle haven’t been quite as tight lipped.
Regulars at exclusive club, The Box, in New York have blown the lid of the duo’s second-round romance.

‘Jude comes in once he has finished performing Hamlet’, said one, 'Then he gets the owner, Simon Hammerstein, who is a good friend, to send a car to pick up Sienna from the theatre where she is performing. They sit, they drink shots, they kiss, they chat to friends, they behave as all lovers do.’

Another on-again-off-again couple who, for now are right back on, is Marilyn Manson and Rachel Evan Wood. Though the rocker was previously quoted saying, he had ‘fantasies every day about smashing [Wood’s] skull in with a sledgehammer,’ true love has won out and the pair are back together – confirmed by Manson himself.

‘Sometimes you feel awkward being what you’re best at,’ said Marilyn, ‘You feel like you have to be something new. But I think that a lot of people will agree that me being at my best [is what] I need to be. I think that that really paid off because I’m back with Evan.’

Umm, ok, that makes perfect sense Maz…

Watch this space, as we’re sure they won’t be the only couple to rebound (both in the celeb-osphere and in the normal world). We give them ‘til D-day (7th Jan, when more divorces proceedings are started then any other day), when their mud slinging starts all over again.
