First, Dancing With The Stars, the US version of Strictly, which with Kelly Osbourne’s dramatic weight loss, Aaron Carter’s (brother of Nick) somersaults and Donny Osmond’s perfect 10s, is like Strictly with more bells and whistles.

Then there’s So You Think You Can Dance, a rare talent competition where the contestants actually have talent (shock, horror). Chaired by ‘Nasty Nigel’ Lythgoe (remember him in Popstars The Rivals?), think Fame, minus the leg-warmers. These kids put Britain’s Got Talent’s Diversity to shame.
Which is why we were extremely excited to hear the BBC is making a UK version of the programme. Furthermore, Arlene Phillips will join Nasty Nigel on the judging panel (hurrah). Have the Beeb finally learned their lesson about employing unqualified judges, after the Alesha backlash? Umm, no. Because the third judge's chair will be filled by… Posh!

Victoria Beckham won’t join the show full time as she’s ‘focusing on her fashion line’ but is in talks to guest judge several episodes. When she made a cameo on American Idol, she drew in 26.3 million viewers, so it’s obvious why producers wants her onboard, but does Victoria (previously crowned the ‘worst dancer in pop’) really believe she has the credentials?
