FIRST LOOK: Fashion’s new TV show

29 September 2009

The nights are drawing in, summer’s a near-distant memory and you know what that means – there’s a new season of  television to keep you glued to your sofa all autumn. First up is Material Girl, the BBC’s big-budget adaptation of Imogen Edward-Jones’s best-selling novel Fashion Babylon. Starring Dervla Kirwan as the bitch-fashion-designer boss determined to stay at the top of her game, even if that means stealing her underling and much-more-talented designer. So far, so totally addictive – right? Well not according to our TV critic Paul Flynn. In this week’s very special 26-page culture guide free with Grazia, he’s argued the BBC has got it all wrong. But here’s your chance to have your say. Take a look at the first clip of Material Girl – which airs on BBC1 - here and tell us what you think of it below.
