When faced with the prospect of a long haul flight (crammed into cattle-class if your budget is anything like ours), most normal people opt for comfort over style. By ‘normal’ I mean anybody except Victoria Beckham who, confusing the runway with a catwalk, is repeatedly snapped arriving at Heathrow trussed up in five-inch heels and dresses so tight she struggled to walk up stairs (watch out for DVT, Vic). This type of airport attire is all well and good if you have a burly minder to carry your suitcase and an airport buggy to drive you to your terminal, but most of us don’t have such luxuries.
