Will Strictly steal the X Factor crown?

Strictly Come Dancing

Last year 13 million of us watched Holby City actor Tom Chambers steal the Strictly Come Dancing crown (proving even clowns can be crush-worthy if they’ve got the right moves). And now, the line-up for the new series has been announced. We’ve got to say, on first glance we’re a little disappointed. It was always going to be tough to top the dancing pig but the latest lot of contestants look like they might actually have talent! They’re young, they’re fit and not bad to look at. Where’s the fun in that? Our favourite competitors aren’t those with artistic ability, but the one’s who fall and stumble, with no apparent sense of rhythm (remember Andrew Castle, for example) There is one token ‘oldie’ Lynda Bellingham, 61, however a lot of the competitors are ex-sporting champions (Martina Hingis, Jade Johnson, Joe Calzaghe, Phil Tufnell) who are sure to take it far too seriously. Of course we’ll still be watching – if only to report back on Natalie Cassidy’s weight loss/gain and how amazing Jo Wood looks for her age. We are torn however between Strictly and X-Factor, which clash in the Saturday night TV schedules. Our office is divided between Team Forsyth and Team Cowell. Where will your loyalties lie?
