X Factor Special: we heart Danyl!

The X Factor is back, and all we can say is Wow! We laughed, we cried, we drooled over our remote controls – and all because of one man, Danyl Johnson, who belted out The Beatles' With A Little Help From My Friends and brought the audience and all four judges to their feet (he’s even got the obligatory sob story, it’s emerged today that his father and him are estranged). We defy you to not watch this clip and fall in love with the dance teacher from Reading, who seemed so shy and nervous in his pre-audition interview but then took to the stage like a pro, pulling off the performance off the show. 'Danyl, I’ve been doing this for eight, nine years, and that was single-handedly the best first audition I’ve ever heard,' said Simon. We’re inclined to agree. But we’re not too sure about the show's new format, having an audience at the audition stages. Danyl’s centre stage explosive performance would have been better saved for the semi finals… Either way, watch this space. We reckon Danyl’s going all the way…
