Every week in Grazia, Mary Portas listens to a reader's dilemma and gives her honest, straight-talking advice. Today, it's your turn to help out Grazia reader Sara who has a problem with debt. Read her letter and let us know what you think she should do. How can she get her career back on track? And her bank account back in the black? Or does she need to work on her self-confidence first?
Five years ago my confidence was destroyed when I was bullied out of my job. I ended up getting very depressed and more and more into debt as I found it increasingly difficult to get work as a freelance advertising copywriter. So last year I sold my flat because my boyfriend was relocating and I wanted to go with him. Now I owe around £30,000 and am struggling to make ends meet. All I dream of is opening a vintage clothing shop but how am I ever going to do it? With all this debt and worry, I’m scared that I’ll never get my career back on track and I’ll drive my boyfriend away.
Sara, 38, Cardiff
