Pantmania: Bridget Jones eat your heart out!

22 July 2009

Elbows out ladies! John Lewis has just had a delivery of 40,000 pairs of pants, and they're expecting a stampede. While they may not be the most aesthetically pleasing knickers around, the £25 passion killers (a.k.a. Scala Bio-Fir Anti-Cellulite pants) claim to slim thighs and banish cellulite. All you have to do is wear them for six hours a day for 30 days. The secret? Bio-crystals that warm up against the skin and melt away fat cells (ew!), with slimming results lasting up to 12 months (yahey!) The first batch – which went on sale in John Lewis in May – sold out within an hour, and were soon going for £60 on eBay.

Surely this is too good to be true? Well, in the interests of science, we've got a pair of the country's most-wanted knickers on our desk, and we'll be testing them out. A month from now we'll report back with the results (which we're hoping will include gazelle-like thighs and buttocks reminiscent of Spinning Around-era Kylie). Watch this space!
