'My best friend's life has come together just when mine's falling apart...'
It feels as if everything in my life is up in the air and it's really getting me down. I've been working hard for years on a career in journalism and, after doing loads of interning, have finally landed a contract covering someone's maternity leave. But while I'm pleased to have got a job, it finishes in September and I have no idea what I'm going to do afterwards. Likewise, I thought I'd met a great guy at the beginning of the year and everything went fine for three months. But last week he dumped me after deciding he wasn't ready for a relationship and I don't understand why I keep getting it wrong with men. Worst of all, my best friend's life has suddenly come together and, while I'm happy for her, she seems to have forgotten how hard it is to be in the place where she was herself not so long ago.
Kate, 24, Newcastle
