Forget Boyzone and Blue: the '90s act that we're really exciting about reforming is No Doubt, fronted by the never-knowingly-under-dressed Gwen Stefani. And reform they have, if only for a one-off episode of Gossip Girl, to be screened here in mid-July. In the episode, we flash back to 1983 to see a young Lily walking into a seedy-looking club, where No Doubt are performing as a fictional band called Snowed Out (get it?) and singing a cover of Adam Ant's ‘Stand and Deliver'. Watch the clip here.
And while you're at it, get used to seeing Brittany Snow as the young Lily, because the show's creator Josh Schwartz (who also gave us The OC) is planning a spin-off - tentatively entitled ‘Lily' - about the teen years of Serena's socialite mum. It's even been rumoured that Josh is casting teenage versions of The OC's Julie and Kirsten to appear in the show, interacting with the younger versions of Lily, Rufus et al. We can't decide if this is the best idea ever, or simply teen drama overkill. What do you think?
