The Rumour Mill: gossip set straight!

default

It's been quite a weekend for fashion rumours. So we decided to hit the phones and sort out the truth from the mere speculation...

1. Ok. So it started with the rumour that the French fashion house Paco Rabanne was looking to revive its business with new young modern designers. Then it was to mooted that the young designers in question were London based designers Christopher Kane and Marios Schwab. Well, we put in the calls and guess what? They're not. Marios himself gave a flat no. While Kane's rep laughed off the rumours as "gossip gone mad."

2. The one about Anna Wintour possibly becoming the US Ambassador to France. Our impeccable source in New York says there's no way; not least because Anna isn't big on diplomacy.

3. Is Phoebe Philo about to leave Celine before she has even designed a collection? When she joined the LVMH owned fashion house last October a press release was sent out saying her first collection, a range for AW09, would be presented this March. Now they are saying her first collection will be unveiled in October. We hear Phoebe is having "issues" with the suits at LVMH. We hope you can sort out all the kinks, guys!

4. Meanwhile those rumours about Cheryl Cole for Topshop refuse to die. But according to Toppers it's rubbish. 'It's not true. Whilst we're working with Kate Moss I don't think we'd work with any other celebrity.' Darn it.
