After the London Film Festival last night we're not only nursing a sore head, but two unlikely new crushes! Number one is Frank Langella, who plays Richard Nixon in Frost/Nixon, which had its World Premiere last night. Langella's stunning, heart-breaking performance has us sympathising with the Nixon so much that we almost cried - and he's supposed to be the villain of the piece! Number two is Sir David Frost. We're really seeing the Through the Keyhole stalwart in a new light this morning! Who knew that Frost was a proper playboy in the 1970s, a fixture of the era's glittering party circuit? Or that he was working as a fluffy talk show host at the time of the Nixon interview, and took a huge gamble, paying hundreds of thousands of pounds for the interview out of his own pocket, without the support of a TV network? And it seems old habits die hard - because as the rest of us drank champers and nibbled canapés at the after party, Sir David, 69, reverted to his old playboy ways and snuck off to hold his own private party upstairs! We only wish we'd been invited to that.
