

Emma Donoghue’s novel Room has been one of the most-talked about books of the year. Loosely based on the Josef Fritzl case, it’s a story of a mother and her 5-year-old son kept in captivity but told from the perspective of the young boy who doesn’t realize he’s imprisoned. Already a bestseller and shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize, it’s made Emma Donoghue one of the most interesting authors of 2010.
