Victoria Beckham is having to face up to the fact that her only girl, Harper Seven, might not want to follow in her footsteps. It seems she’s far more interested in scoring goals than scoring this season’s must-have handbag.
After showing her collection as part of New York Fashion Week, Victoria said: “Harper loves fashion as all little girls do, she loves putting makeup on and playing with my shoes. She's a tomboy, she has three brothers.
"She said to me the other day: 'Mummy I think I want to play football.' It was a dagger through the heart.”
Clearly this is the dry sense of humour VB’s famed for. She added: “I have three boys who want to play football, come on, let one of them want to be in fashion.”
Victoria might be disappointed that four-year old Harper could be a possibility for the 2030 World Cup, but on the flip side her dad David is obviously pretty happy about this turn of events.
“It was the best thing I’d ever heard I think,'' he said in an interview on Daybreak.
He also revealed Harper can run in high heels (despite being four).* *
"Victoria is like, ‘please, we’ve got four children, three of them are boys and all love football. Please just let me have one that kind of wants to dress like me or wear high heels’ and actually Harper is amazing, she runs in the high heels so she's definitely got that from Victoria.”
David also recently posted a picture on Instagram of Harper shooting a ball into a net and said: “Mia Hamm eat your heart out. Harper Seven taking lessons from her brothers (oh and her dad ).”
