We've always had Chloe Moretz down as a bit of a hero. Who else could have played a child assasin in Kick-Ass and still made us say 'aww' during the promo tour?

Five years on, now 18, she's one of young Hollywood's most admirable actresses. And she's proved herself wise well beyond her years in a new interview - discussing her thoughts on feminism, gay rights and her alternative career option - as the youngest ever female President.

While discussing her role in forthcoming Seth Rogen comedy, Neighbors 2, she weighed in on how the film isn't the 'bro comedy' you might expect, thanks to the strong female leads and female-led writing. Plus why she's been a feminist since birth.

“We’re a lot scarier than the boys. A lot scarier,” she joked of herself and co-stars Rose Byrne and Selena Gomez. “If any of the women ever feel there’s something inappropriate, we speak up, and they will never push the boundaries with us—they’ve been really respectful,” she explained.

On feminism she said: “My mom was a single mom, so I’ve been a feminist since birth. I think feminism is about strong women being who they want to be and fighting for equality on all accounts. It’s not about men being demolished to bring women higher up in the world. I think that’s incredibly misconstrued.”

The actor also discussed how it affected her when her brother identified as gay when she was 11, and how it's made her more active in fighting for gay rights. “At 11, you’re incredibly observant and realising what society is, and who you are, and people are kissing boys or girls for the first time, and you’re really starting to understand what sexuality is. And to see my brothers struggle with the anxiety of having to come out was awful,” she explained.

“The problem is we live in a society where we have to say the words, ‘I’m coming out.’ No one should care what your sexual orientation is, what colour your skin is, or if you’re a man or a woman. People would call them the F-word, and I would get so angry. It was really hard to see my brothers be hated on or bullied, so I stood up for them. We shouldn’t be using these terms to create more labels and segregate us further apart than we already are. At a young age, I was motivated to fight for gay rights, women’s rights, minority rights—all human rights.”

Later on, she revealed that if she wasn't into acting, she'd run for President. “I’m ready, guys, youngest female president ever! I don’t know…maybe not president. I might just be a senator. We’ll see.” Let's hope she tries to do both film and politics.

And finally, her endearing comments on why 'squad goals' don't apply to her - she wants to be friends with everyone. Talking of her high school days, she says “I was never included in those things when I was a kid. I was the weird one that chose to do movies, so now I go out of my way to be nice to people and make them feel included.”
