Get beautified: Grazia/Nike 10k run

09 October 2009

So now you’ve taken the brave step to sign up for the Grazia/Nike 10k run, it’s time to focus on looking the part. We’re not talking abandoning your beauty regime and getting all ‘outdoorsy and sporty’. We’re just thinking Paula Radcliffe meets Grazia’s beauty team so here’s the Grazia must have running beauty kit:

If you just can’t go out without any sort of coverage, opt for a light tinted moisturiser with an SPF so that you’re doubling up on your creams. There’s nothing worse than a layered face when you’re exercising. Try MAC’s Studio Moisture Tint SPF 15.

As we’re coming into winter, use Dermalogica’s Climate Control. It’s a balm which will protect you from climate aggressives like wind when you’re moving a break neck speed and will prevent rough, dry skin.

Tinted lip balm will keep your lips protected from the wind and weather (always look for an SPF) and the subtle colour keeps you looking healthy even if you’re lips are turning blue! Kiehl’s tinted lip balm SPF 15 or Blistex Tint + Shine in Blush.

Use a mascara that’s waterproof and long wearing to avoid smudging. Unfortunately sweat is good at causing this. We recommend Clinique’s Lash Power Mascara long wearing version.

Use a non slip headband to keep hair off your face and avoid it falling off mid run. Try Goody’s StayPut Headbands from Boots.

dry shampoo

Mark Hill Gym Style Instant Fix Dry Shampoo is genius for using before or after a run for hold and convenience if hair washing isn’t an option. This particular dry shampoo has been especially designed for use after a workout with clever ‘sweat’ removing ingredients. Amazing!
