Trend Tuesday: Get Ready For A Breast Cancer Awareness Beauty Bonanza!

01 October 2013 by

In this week’s sparkling new issue of Grazia us beauty ladies are more than proud to present one of our prettiest (even if we say so ourselves) beauty charts ever. Why, I hear you say? Well, in case you weren’t aware, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and we just cannot wait to share with you all the gorgeous latest beauty buys raising money for Breast Cancer Awareness. A pink beauty splurge with a charitable cause? Yes please!

What’s more, we’re also over the moon to be able to announce that high-street hero Boots have teamed up with Macmillan Cancer Support to introduce a unique beauty advisor role in stores to help women affected by cancer. A recent poll by Macmillan Cancer Support showed that 81% of women suffering from cancer feel the physical side-effects of their treatment have negatively affected their self-esteem and despite this, 64% are unsure of how to disguise them and 73% said they would welcome some expert beauty advice from a local trained advisor.

So, welcome in the Boots Macmillan Beauty Advisors! No7 advisors have been specially trained to offer advice and support to help people affected by cancer to manage the visible side-effects of their treatment via a personalised service developed by Boots and Macmillan. As Boots Marketing Director Elizabeth Fagan explains, “It goes without saying that this can be a difficult time and that small things for some can make a difference. We hope our beauty advisors can provide women with much needed support and can, in some small way, help them to feel positive.”

Although you’ll have to hurry on down and arm yourself with the new issue of Grazia for the full lowdown, in the meantime we just couldn’t wait to share with you our other favourite Breast Cancer Awareness goodies filling up our beauty cupboard.
