The Olsen Twins Are All Grown Up! They Release Dual 'Adult' Perfumes

02 November 2013 by

The duo have been in the limelight and appearing on best dressed lists ever since what feels like the beginning of time (well, since they were six months old, to be exact). But if ever we needed further proof that the Olsen twins are all grown up, they continue on their path to world domination with a new fragrance launch for their contemporary apparel brand, Elizabeth and James. Actually, make that two new fragrance launches: Nirvana White and Nirvana Black.

Technically, this isn't the first time they've released a fragrance, having had several teen-themed scents back in the day. But who wants to be judged on what they did as a teenager, right? This is the first time they've done it on a high end level, and it's reportedly worlds away from being another 'celebrity perfume.'

According to the girls, the addition of fragrance to their accolades had always been a no-brainer: 'We always knew we wanted to have a fragrance for this brand, because it's very lifestyle,' Ashley told WWD. 'We felt that between the brand Elizabeth and James and Sephora that we were really speaking together directly to our customer. We felt that was a really good place to start exploring the world of fragrance and beauty.'

'After going through the process of the first fragrance and getting to a place where we loved it, we felt like we were doing a disservice by not offering two, due to the duality of the brand having masculine and feminine qualities,' explains Ashley. 'It just felt right.' Why Nirvana, you ask? 'To us, this was really about a moment—and what's that one word that's going to define that one moment where you feel comfortable, sexy and at ease with yourself?' Nirvana, obvs! The Black features hints of violet, sandalwood and vanilla, while the white offers lashings of peony, muguet and musk. Yum!

So when can we smell like an Olsen twin? The perfumes will be sold exclusively in Sephora stores and website starting January 2014.
