Slowly but surely, we’re all starting to realise just how important it is to protect our skin from the sun on a daily basis, even if we do live in a rather gloomy climate. Aside from the obvious dangers of the sun like melanoma, we also have to think about its hugely ageing effects. Remember that woman you spotted on the beach looking like an old leathery handbag? Yup, that could be you…

It’s tough knowing what to buy nowadays as there are so many options out there. Do you use the same products on a daily basis as abroad? Does make-up with sunscreen really protect your skin and how often should you be applying these products? In reality, it’s best to use sunscreen every day, even if it’s just a thin layer under your make-up but there are some great bronzers and CC Creams with high factor protection.

Another big issue with sunscreen is finding a texture that suits you. The problem is, we want a cream that isn’t too white, oil that isn’t too greasy, a high factor stick that doesn’t make us break out… the list goes on. And why shouldn’t we want all these things? Here’s our edit of the crème de la crème of sun care.
