Cheryl Cole shot by Rankin for L’Oréal Paris’ Sublime Bronze and Body campaign
Cheryl Cole’s been the face of L’Oreal since 2009, convincing us to buy Elnett, lipgloss and foundation by the bucket load and now, it’s the turn of tanning. With the launch of the new Sublime Bronze Express Pro Self-Tanning Dark Dry Mist, Cheryl has been picked to front the campaign for the new range which launches this week, just in time for this glorious sunshine!
Shot by Rankin, Cheryl poses in the new ad campaign for the pro inspired tanning range which consists of 15 products and includes prep, wash-off and tan optimising products.
The lady behind creating Cheryl’s tan for the shoot, Charlotte Connoley, L’Oreal Paris’s Body and Tanning Expert let Grazia Daily in on a couple of tanning tips that she no doubt used on our Cheryl.
Tips for using Sublime Bronze
"Prep the day before by shaving and exfoliating with Sublime Bronze Exfotonic Body Polishing Gel and moisturising with Sublime Bronze Firming Body Lotion.
On the day of your tan, apply a small amount of Sublime Bronze Firming Body Lotion on dry areas like knees, ankles feet and hands.
Holding the can 40cm away from your body, start at the ankle and work your way up the body and spray in vertical strokes turning your leg slowly as you spray so that you create an even coverage. Work your way up the torso to décolletage, arms and lastly your face, making sure the product is worked into the hairline. When spraying your hands and feet hold the can further away and claw your hands so that the spray gets in to the creases of the knuckles.
The genius think about Sublime Bronze Express Pro Self-Tanning Dry Mist, you don’t need to rub in as it dries instantly."
Who is the Dark Mist great for?
"The Sublime Bronze Express Pro Self-Tanning Dry Mist in Dark Tan works with all skin types and tones to give a streak-free, natural result."
Tips to make your tan last…
"To make your tan last, keep moisturised. Use the Extraordinary Nourishing Body Oil after showering. Also it’s perfect for highlighting key areas of the skin. Use it along the collarbone and onto the fronts of the shoulders and down the shins on your legs to really elongate your legs leaving them smooth and radiant and your skin smelling incredible.
Bathing in general – especially with any oils in the water - will soak off the tan so showering is best. Remember to pat dry skin as vigorous rubbing will cause the skin to roll."
Are there different shades to achieve different finishes?
"Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Dry Mist comes in Fair, Medium and Dark Tan so you can choose which colour suits your skin tone best. Be realistic about using the Dark mist. Look at your skin tone in the mirror and think about what colour your skin goes in the sun. If you are naturally fair and turn a reddish colour in the sun then it’s likely you won’t be prepared for the Dark Tan result, so start by trialling the Fair and work your way up."
What kind of tan is going to be big this summer?
"Sublime Bronze Self-Tanning Dry Mist in Dark Tan is perfect if you want to recreate a luxurious mahogany all over tan for that must have look for this coming Summer. Tanning trends seen at Spring/Summer 2013 on the models at Ungaro, Pucci, Issa and Versace were all looking like they had just stepped off the beach with incredibly dark tans, so the look is very fashionable right now."
