There isn’t much Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen can’t do. We've seen them as actresses, fashion designers and now perfumers. Yes, the Olsens have just launched a twin-set (see what they've done there?) of two new fragrances, Nirvana and Black, which are launching at Sephora this month. In celebration, the duo have opened up to US Harpers Bazaar about their beauty quirks, the smell of popcorn and why they love eyebrow spoolies (this was a new one for us too). Read on for the highlights...

Embrace the popcorn scent

“It’s not my favourite food but the smell is fantastic. I don’t eat a lot of popcorn in the movie theatres, but the scent is really great,” Ashley explained.

Be happy with a Chapstick

MK said, “I like Brave Soldier Lip Balm. It’s more of a high-impact chapstick for sports like hiking and skiing. We both like that.”

Lauren Hutton is the ultimate beauty icon

“She’s such a woman in every single sense of the word. She’s known for her beauty but not because of how she looks, but because of who she is and what she stands for.”

Keep your brows groomed at all times

Ashley said, “Sometimes I bring an eyebrow spoolie.” (NB- Even us beauty ladies had to google this one. Turns out it’s just a fancy term for an eyebrow brush- like a mascara wand minus the mascara)

Ashley gets ready in the dark

“Everyone’s tempted to do it sometimes, but it’s just the worst thing you can do. I prefer to get ready with the lights off so I’m never even tempted to look at my skin!”

Mary-Kate is all about the bed-head look

“The truth is I feel like I just learned how to brush my hair like last week.”

Ashley cuts her friends' hair

"I made it a blunt, A-line haircut. And then we had a professional come in after and clean it up a bit! But it was pretty good on its own."
