I’ve got my beauty staples whittled down to a T but I am going to try and branch out, or at least expand my collection this year. My brand new perfume obsession comes in the form of the unisex Atkinson’s 24 Old Bond Street Cologne, £60 – I can’t put my finger on why exactly I love it but I have the cologne the shower gel and the candle on the go at the moment. In terms of makeup I am determined to be more daring and try to wear a pink lip once in a while this year- I’ve definitely got my eye on this cute Paul and Joe one! I love a peach blush in spring too. I’m also coveting all of the new rose coloured nail varnishes in the Nails Inc Spring Collection – they’re gorgeous and look fab on any skin tone.

For me 2014 is all about getting the perfect brow- I know, I am a little late to the game but this year I am going to be really committed! I’m on the lookout for the ultimate brow gel and am already converted to Estee Lauder Double Wear Brow Duo, £19, which had just the right shade for my brows and really doesn’t budge once it’s on. Now I just need a lesson in shaping them- but I will keep Urban Decay’s Brow Box, £17 close at hand too! I’m also all about illuminating skin this time of year, when its dull dull dull outside. I love Benefit Sunbeam, £19.50 and Givenchy cream eye shadows. They smooth on perfectly and give skin the prettiest sheen.

I’m determined to master the whole ‘no make-up’ make-up thing this year after many failed attempts! However, with the likes of Charlotte Tilbury’s amazing new WonderGlow Primer, £38.50 and Chanel’s bestselling Les Beiges, £38 I reckon a glowing complexion is only a mere step away. I am also currently obsessed with Soap and Glory’s Kick Ass Instant Retouch Pressed Powder, £12, which is perfect for midday touch-ups and is a total steal to boot. A slick of Max Factor’s Clump Defy Volumising Mascara, £10.99 will finish off the flawless look to total perfection. Sorted!

I have a confession to make: I'm a lipstick hoarder. I have boxes of brand new lipsticks in colours from berry to bright pink – and yet I wear the same shade every day. So it's a(nother) beauty resolution of mine to update my look for 2014 and make the most of my collection. It's such a simple way to brighten things up, especially when the weather's so dismal outside – and it's free too! The first step is to cram my personalised makeup bag (thanks Bareminerals!) with as many shades as possible, add a good lip balm and get experimenting. Wish me luck!
So will YOU be giving your makeup bag a New Year makeover?
