Us beauty ladies can only hope we look half as good as Madonna when we’re 55- bulging biceps aside, there’s no denying that Madge’s skin is pretty close to perfection. So, you can only imagine exactly why our excitement levels went through the roof last month when the queen of pop announced that she would be launching her very own skincare line. Yes- really! At the end of the day, we all know that the secret to good skin (and ageing well) is prevention, so even though we’ve got a fair few years until we’re 55, we reckon it’s never too early to start thinking about our anti-ageing skincare routine, right?

Nonetheless, we’re not too sure that Madonna’s new 3-piece skin care collection, entitled MDNA, is something we’d be stocking up on. For starters, it’s currently only being sold in Japan. Secondly, the campaign video has well and truly disturbed us- Madge’s offerings include a Chrome Clay Mask, Skin Rejuvenator and a Serum, although we can’t help but feel a little intimated by the new collection, which is definitely not your typical beauty campaign. But hey, this is Madonna, after all…
"Having good skin is important to me…but so are other things", the singer's distinctive voice utters as she crawls around on the floor wearing stockings and suspenders. “Creation…your body smells like honey from the comb. Essence…your amber silken skin smells of your mind. Alchemy…I've spent hours on it, months on it, years on it", she drawls, while another voice whispers somewhat eerily, "touch my skin…Touch me". Don’t believe us? Watch the video below and see for yourself.
Skincare artist Michelle Peck, Madonna’s personal skincare advisor of over ten years, serves as the brand ambassador had an integral role in the product development. She told us that The Serum is based on a unique formula that was created exclusively for Madonna, the Chrome Clay Mask is made using clay from Montecatini Terme in Italy and The Skin Rejuvenator uses a specialized magnetic force to remove impurities from the skin. Want in? Grab your passport- we’ll see you in Japan.
