Exciting news for a Friday morning? Karl Lagerfeld’s brand-spanking new fragrance is set to launch in March this year. Pretty good timing for a spring perfume update, right? Grazia's beauty team was lucky enough to attend the launch of the new perfume in London last night and although we are sworn to absolute secrecy, we can guarantee you’re in for a serious beauty treat.

Over a cheeky virgin mojito (hey, it is dry January, after all), morsels of some of the chicest chocolate cake we've had for a while and over a crackling open fire, the story of the Karl fragrance was unveiled before our very eyes. What's more, when even trusty Google maps had trouble locating the venue (a super-trendy warehouse in the depths of Holborn), we knew this was one heck of a top-secret launch...

Of course, in true fashionista spirit, King Karl is keeping all the deets of his new fragrance on the down-low with only a hashtag (#karlparfums) and the mere sightings of the first few logos unveiled. Here's a sneak preview...

When Karl announced back in October 2012 that he was cutting ties with Coty and embarking on a new fragrance venture with Inter Parfums SA, us beauty ladies were serious excited and now, it seems, the wait is finally over. So, what can we expect from Karl’s new fragrance? Well, team Grazia beauty reckon the bottle itself is going to be pretty damn cool and the perfect addition to any bathroom shelf. What's more, when these super-chic black and white logos were unveiled at the launch last night, we did wonder whether they were hints towards a monochrome element to the perfume's fashion-forward packaging?

Having created cosmetic collections for Shu Uemura, designed a pop-up hair salon for Schwarzkopf and having written a diet book, it’s safe to say Karl sure knows a thing or two about the beauty world, so we’re predicting a super-sleek, chunky glass bottle. Oh, and the fragrance? Bearing in mind that Karl’s fave scent is Le Labo’s Neroli 36, we can already smell the fresh-citrus, floral hints of his latest concoction.

The full details of Karl Lagerfeld's new fragrance collection will be unveiled in March. Stay tuned...
