Blake Lively for L'Oreal Paris

Want to know what really happens over at L’Oreal Paris HQ? Well, apart from testing out lots of fantabulous beauty products, of course, it seems that the cosmetic giants are also partial to the odd episode of Gossip Girl. How do we know this, you ask? Well, only last week did the beauty brand unveil Leighton Meester as the face of L’Oreal Paris’ luxe line Biotherm and yesterday confirmed co-star Blake Lively as the new spokesperson for L’Oreal Paris. Now, this is serious gossip, girls!

Beauty giants L’Oreal Paris confirmed the signing of super-chic Blake yesterday via their Instagram account, and although they couldn’t confirm exactly what lines the starlet will be endorsing, you we can expect to see the stunning campaigns come 2014. L’Oréal’s brand global president Cyril Chapuy said in a statement: “She has become a beauty icon for a whole generation with her gorgeous gold-dipped hair, luminous gaze and drop-dead smile. Today, this strong, charismatic and definitely glowing actress is joining the L’Oréal Paris family. And we’re so proud to welcome her.” We couldn’t agree more.

What’s more, Lively is no stranger the beauty scene, having already established herself as the face of Gucci Premiere perfume. However, it’s safe to say this is Ryan Reynolds’ ladylove’s first foray into the skin and make-up world and we reckon it’s a pretty perfect fit- we’ve long been swooning over Blake’s glowing skin and effortless beauty look. Lively said, “I am thrilled and honoured to join the incredible women who represent L’Oréal Paris. I grew up with the inspiration of their message, “We’re worth it”. What an important value to instil in women.”

Alas, what can we expect from Blake’s venture with L’Oreal? In an interview with Vogue Paris, the blonde beauty revealed that when it comes to her skincare routine, it’s all about the SPF: “I’ve always chosen technical formulas, products that work a bit harder.” What’s more, a little birdie informs us that come 2014, we might just see a new BB Crème (with added SPF to boot), a new lip colour as well as a skin correcting moisturiser. Stay tuned, girls.
