Beauty Bites: Chanel Vending Machine & Hawaiian Tropic's New Suncare Range

It was the week the sun finally came out (and went), the week we waved goodbye to JLS (sob) and the week K-Mid was seen sporting a serious baby-bump (with an awesome hairstyle to boot). However, life at the Grazia Beauty desk has been ploughing on as usual in the face of such events, with a never-ending stream of new and exciting beauty booty piling up on our desks. So, let us take this opportunity to introduce you to ‘Beauty Bites’, our exclusive edit of all things wonderful going down in our buzzing beauty world- from invaluable trend updates to the latest launches, we pledge to keep you constantly in the know…

1. Hawaiian Tropic Sundowner Party

Temperatures in London reached a record 20 degrees on Tuesday, so there really couldn’t have been a more perfect evening to head to Hawaiian Tropic’s Sundowner Party at London’s super-chic Paramount Bar. Sipping cocktails with sunset views from the 31st floor whilst having a papaya-pedi from celeb manicurist David Barton really was total bliss. We left with a lovely bag of goodies, including the new Silk Hydration After Sun, £11.99, which we cannot wait to try out. If only the summer hols would come sooner…

2. Sweaty Betty Press Day

This week we popped into the Sweaty Betty press day to check out their upcoming galactic inspired Autumn/Winter 2013 collection.  Now we are very aware that we haven’t even had summer yet, but have to reveal that the bulging rails of truly scrumptious workout wear for every sport from running, to yoga, skiing and swimming, have motivated not one but two workout sessions and a run so far this week. Impressed? We are.

3. Harvey Nichols’ Gift of Beauty Event

Beauty addicts rejoice! It’s that time of the year again at Harvey Nicks- spend over £110 on fragrance, skincare, beauty or cosmetics and you’ll receive over £130-worth of delectable treats from some of the store’s most prestigious beauty brands. Think Eve Lom, Dermalogica, Elemis and Clarins to name a few. What’s more, the goodies come in a limited-edition Fifi Lapin make-up bag. There’s never been a better time to spoil yourselves, ladies!

4. Chanel Vending Machine at Selfridges

Looks like KitKats and McCoys aren’t the only things popping out of vending machines these days! Yesterday saw the arrival of Chanel’s exclusive vending machines at Selfridges to mark the launch of the much-anticipated Le Volume De Chanel mascara. The new volumising mascara (which, by the way, is a-mazing) has an innovative ‘Snowflake’ brush which coats and separates every teensy little lash. Get your skates on ladies- the vending machine will only be around in Selfridges till 8th May before going nationwide. Eye-opening stuff, we think.

5. Detox Kitchen Deli

If, like us, you’ve just purchased a copy of Gwennie’s new cookbook but are struggling to know where to start, take a trip to Harvey Nichol’s Fifth Floor Foodmarket where you will find the gastronomic delights of the Detox Kitchen Deli. With wheat-free, dairy-free and sugar-free juices, salads and snacks, this is the ideal pit-stop for a healthy lunch. To date, The Detox Kitchen’s food has only ever been available to order, so this is your chance to get a slice of exclusive foodie heaven. We’ve got our eye on the Salad bar- Seared tuna with butternut squash, hazlenuts, red onion, rosemary and lemon? Yes, please! FYI, pudding is also on the menu...
