Boots Launch First-Ever Beauty Advent Calendar

Better than chocolate? We think so...

If Christmas wasn’t exciting enough already, Boots have just gone and made it even better with their Beauty Advent Calendar. Wake up to a mystery beauty treat every day in December including fabulous brands that we love, like Nails Inc, Vichy and Rimmel. This beauty box of delights gives us a chance to trial and test products that we may not have picked up ourselves, perhaps introducing some Holy Grail products to enjoy throughout the Christmas season and into the New Year too. If we weren’t spoilt enough already, Boots are embracing the Christmas spirit and have given us triple advantage card points when buying a full size of any of the products from the calendar, giving you an incentive to really treat your loved ones this Christmas... or yourself! But hurry girls, as there are only a limited number of advent calendars on sale so it really is a case of grab one before they go. Get in now!

The Space NK Beauty Council

One of our best loved beauty boutiques, Space NK is 20 years old this year. To celebrate, they have created The Beauty Council. What is The Beauty Council you ask? Well, it’s a number of events that you can get involved in, including presentations of the stories behind the best loved brands at Space NK and beyond. The launch will include speakers such as fashion accessories designer Anya Hindmarch, illustrator Julie Verhoeven and food magicians Bompas & Parr (just to name a few!) together with beauty experts, historians, writers, artists and photographers challenging them to answer the question, ‘What does beauty mean to you?’ What’s more, the event will raise money for the retailer’s charity partner Women for Women International.  But it doesn’t stop there- following the Council, there will be a whole week of events at the flagship stores in Knightsbridge and The Kings Road with fitness training courtesy of James Duigan’s Clean and Lean team, facial yoga with facialist Georgia Louise, tailored hair care tips from Color WOW and much more. The tickets cost £15 and are redeemable against purchase. To book call 020 874 0208.

Beyonce's gorgeous Breast Cancer Awareness manicure (@beyonce)

Ah, we just love you Beyoncé. The best bit? You too can have the starlet’s gorgeously pink nails as a little birdie revealed to us that the colour on Bey’s pinkie is Nails Inc’s Limited Edition Pinkie Pink varnish, out now, with £1 from the sale of every bottle going to the Breast Cancer Campaign. Want in? To raise awareness and raise £50,000, Nails Inc are encouraging people to ‘Paint Their Pinkie Pink.’ Girl power, indeed.

Ayurveda Pura Use Holistic Approach To Spa Treatments

Know anything about Ayurveda? We didn't either until we visited South East London spa Ayurveda Pura. Using the ancient Indian holistic medical system staff treat clients based three different body types, which it's believed we all inhabit to various degrees - Vata, Pitta and Kapha. As a result each individual is provided with a tailored approach when they walk in the door, combining massage treatments, nutritional recommendations, herbal remedies and detoxification to promote happier and healthier living. We tried the Abhyanga 1 hour Full Body Massage, which aims to improve lymph flow, stimulate the immune system, detoxify, strengthen and revitalise the entire nervous system. Different from the usual massage, sweeping figure of eight movements are used to cover the body and there is a lot of oil involved - luckily there are shower facilities for after the treatment - and a cafe for a refreshment before you leave.
