Sweaty Betty's Ballet Bootcamp starts today

New Year’s fitness resolutions a distant memory? Yep, ours too. So we were super excited when we heard about Sweaty Betty’s new Ballet Bootcamp, starting today in Sweaty Betty stores across the country. Forget overcrowded gyms or pounding the pavements in the driving wind and rain, we’re going to dance our way fit, for free. Read on for five reasons to give ballet a twirl…

1. Celebrities Love It

Ballet workouts are all the rage among A-listers, with Alexa Chung and Taylor Swift both attributing their lean physiques in part to ballet-inspired workouts. Victoria’s Secret model Lindsay Ellingson shared an Instagram snap of herself perfecting her barre work before the Victoria’s Secret Show, with the caption: ‘Thank you @balletbeautiful for toning me beautifully!’. Well, if it’s good enough for a Victoria’s Secret Angel…

2. Ballerinas = Stronger & Leaner

The Ballet Bootcamp workout was created by ex-professional dancers Victoria Marr and Flik Swan and combines military-style cardio drills with classic ballet exercises like pliés and planks to burn calories and tone legs, arms and abs to perfection. The combination means devotees see results, fast: a sculpted, strengthened dancer’s physique will be yours in no time.

3. We Can Embrace Our Flashdance Fantasies

Who hasn’t at some point wanted to emulate 80s icon Jennifer Beals, with her legwarmers and slubby off-the-shoulder training tops? Now we have a bona fide excuse, and Sweaty Betty are more than happy to oblige our fantasies with a collection of ballet beautiful workout gear. All together now: ‘what a feeling…!’

4. It’s free!

Yep, the kind folks at Sweaty Betty are hosting the bootcamps entirely free for their customers as part of their month-long Get Fit 4 Free campaign. The 45-minute classes take place in Sweaty Betty stores all over the UK: simply call up, book in and get ready to perfect those pliés.

5. You Can Even Join In Online

If you can’t make it to the classes in person, Sweaty Betty will post videos of each workout online. So you can pirouette your way to a stronger core, leaner legs and ballerina’s bum in the comfort of your own home. Tutus optional.

Ballet Bootcamp classes begin today for four weeks at Sweaty Betty stores across the UK. Visit sweatybetty.com/getfit4free to find your nearest class.
