This week we caught up with backstage hero and hair stylist supreme, Zoe Irwin, and asked her lots of insider hair tips to keep us going throughout this winter period when the weather really takes it's toll. Amongst other things, she gave us a sneak peek of what's inside her rather lovely neon pink Christopher Kane makeup bag, and it's so flipping amazing that we just HAD to share it with you lot...
Inside Zoe's makeup bag...
Sisleya Global Anti-Age Hand Care - I use this continually in between styling hair as it really is the best hand moisturiser. It sinks in so easily that I am able to use my hands after to touch hair without it leaving a film of product on my clients. The most common mistake women make is to touch their fresh blowdry with their fingers that have cream on them - this makes the blowdry oily and flop immediately so I tend to be a hand cream Nazi!
Sisley Nutritive Lip Balm - I am a complete Sisley addict and I always buy these as gifts for my girlfriends as it really keeps your lips hydrated and soft and lasts for so long. It's always in the handbags of my celebrity clients.
Nars Colour Stick in Orgasm - I love these Nars colour sticks - it's the perfect mix of shimmer and coral/pink that suits my pale complexion and is very easy to blend. I find it really accentuates hair tones sometimes to add washes of coral or peach and I advise my clients to do this after colour.
Laura Mercier Eye Basic in Wheat - This is a recent purchase and a new addiction for me. I wish I had known about it years ago as it really has stopped my liner from smudging - I apply it before eyeshadow and black liner and it keeps everything in place.
Cosmetics a la Carte Custom Foundation - I carry the travel version of this and refill it at home. It is a tinted moisturiser that was made up to my skin tone in the shop . I went in for a makeup lesson to change my look and came out with so many new colours that I would never have tried! This is very soft on my skin and barely there but hides imperfections.
Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Dragon Girl - I use this all over my lips as I adore a bright red look and was recommended this vibrant tone by a makeup artist. It's an uplifting red and perfect for use in the back of a taxi where I seem to be applying my makeup these days!
Cosmetics a la Carte Outliner in Peacock - This is a vibrant peacock blue that I use with a fine brush in a line on my eyelids to do a strong flick shape . It stays well and gives a strong statement look. I seem to be using stronger makeup tones as my face softens with age!
Opi Nail Lacquer Mini - I always carry a mini nail lacquer and this soft grey is a winner. My hands are shot a lot for work and its an emergency perk-up manicure product.
Sisley Ecological Compound Day & Night - This is great for when I'm shooting on location as its a super rich moisturiser. I often apply it during the day and on flights as it's so hydrating.
