Diane Kruger's Chanel skincare campaign video 'Where Does Beauty Begin?' has landed and it is even more perfect than we could have imagined. It contains all the classic Chanel components, with a soft focus Diane frolicking on the beach in a blanket and driving a Merc in stilettos. Plus Kruger speaks up, delivering a poetic monologue that rivals Brad Pitt's. She comes out with beauty mantras such as 'beauty isn't sought, it's revealed,' 'beauty blooms where not expected,' and 'beauty is sometimes imperfect always unique.' She so wise. Learn how to do beauty the Chanel way from a picture perfect Diane Kruger in the video above...
4 July 2013: Back in April, the happy news landed that Diane Kruger has bagged a bon new role as the face of Chanel's skincare line - and now we have a first look at the campaign, shot by Peter Lindbergh.
Diane is the face of Chanel's Resynchronizing Collection, which features the Le Jour de Chanel, La Nuit de Chanel and Le Weekend de Chanel creams, made to reenergise the skin, so she looks as gorgeously fresh faced as ever.
Posing on the beach, the actress (and possibly soon to be Mrs Joshua Jackson) is windswept beauty personified. She has her hair swept back away and loosely tousled while wearing nothing but a rug, of the super-luxe variety, wrapped around her shoulders. It's Chanelegance, but not as we know it.
08 April 2013: Diane Kruger Is The Face Of Chanel's New Beauty Campaign
It's no secret that Karl Lagerfeld is Diane Kruger's fashion fairy godfather so it's hardly surprising to hear The Kaiser has turned to the blonde stunner once again for his latest beauty campaign. Yes, news has reached Grazia HQ that the resplendent Diane is the new face of Chanel's new skincare ad, due to be unveiled in 2013. Ooh la la!
Diane has long represented that quintessential Chanelegance in her role as the house's ambassadress. We've watched her every move as she hops from show to show, totting up endless FROW appearances while showcasing the French fashion house's finest garb. And her beauty looks are just as covetable as her wardrobe - we've seen her pretty hair-dos adorned with twinkling embellishments, plaits and waves topped off with her enviably glowing skin. Yes, Diane is a fine beauty muse.
Of course, this isn't the first time DK's beauty has been called upon: Chanel chose her for its 'Allure' fragrance advertising campaign back in 1996, then again for the Paris-Biarritz bag advertising campaign, which was shot by Karl Lagerfeld in 2007.
'With her natural elegance and beauty, Diane Kruger is one of the most famous faces of international cinema,' reads the announcement from Chanel, which has just landed in our inbox. It goes on to explain that the designer was 'attracted by her cosmopolitan spirit and artistic background'. We hear ya, Karl. It also provides the perfect excuse to spend more time with that dishy Joshua Jackson...
In fact, Diane, Josh and Karl are now neighbours but the love-in began way back in the '90s. 'Diane was stunning, and the most interesting girl,' Karl has said of when he first met the then-model. 'The others I forgot instantly. One, she can make any clothing, no matter how wild, look right. That alchemy is very hard to explain. And two, she speaks perfect English, French, and German. There is no actress in the world who can handle so perfectly three languages with no accent.' And just when we thought we couldn't possibly want to be her any more.
