Get ready to see fellas in concealer and bronzer as mens makeup is becoming a 'thing.' No we're not talking about dodgy Pete Wentz guy-liner, but luxury grooming, as Tom Ford revealed at his party at the close of London Collections: Men that he is creating a grooming line for blokes called Tom Ford for men.
The range will include nine skin-care and grooming products including a face cleanser, moisturiser, eye treatment, purifying mud mask, concealer and bronzing gel. He will also be adding two new fragrances to the Private Blend collection, WWD is reporting. We have been given no indication about prices just yet, but the successful luxury women's line sells foundation and poweder in £40-£60 price range.
It's not such a surprising move for the designer, as TF is a beauty junkie. He said in an interview a few years ago: 'I love beauty products. At Gucci I'd spend days working with a make-up artist getting the show to look right. I was never drawn to walking in women's shoes that's maybe why some of them hurt. I never had a desire to wear the clothes. I'm probably the only man in England who doesn't want to dress in drag. But make-up? That I'm serious about.'
So who will be the face of Tom Ford for men? The hunky Henry Cavill looks dapper in a TF tux and Bradley Cooper has Ford on speed dial. But our money is on Mr JT, as Justin Timberlake is his number one fan. We would be OK with his face (touched up with a Tom Ford concealer) in the glossies.
2013 is set to be the year of male luxury makeup, as Marc Jacobs just announced that three of the products in his upcoming beauty line are unisex, including Lip Lock Moisture Balm, Brow Tamer Grooming Gel, and Remedy Concealer Pen.
