The weekend threw up some really rather pleasing new beauty trends, you'll be glad to hear. From film premieres to music awards, the red carpets across the globe were filled with all manner of beauty buffs.

First up is RiRi, who has kicked off her 777 Tour in style with a classic and sexy look. Both her matte red lip and soft brown eyeshadow are feminine and on-trend. Her choice of shadow compliments her skin tone and are those some lilac nails we can spot?? If so, we like!

Heidi Klum

At the American Music Awards in LA, model mum Heidi was looking picture-perfect as always. Her face was glowing with it's sheer, flawless complexion and she's gone for a pared-down nude lip that's both flattering and elegant to go with her delicate gold dress. We spy some eyelash extensions too, which really help to open up her eyes and add that extra sparkle that's perfect for a red carpet event.

Gwen Stefani

Gorgeous Gwen rocked another red lip at the weekend, her signature look these days. We have spotted another set of false lashes which we're buying by the bucket load for the looming festive season. Notice how matte Gwen keeps her skin, which is down to a good dusting of powder over her foundation. You can try this at home by using a large thick brush dipped in translucent powder, which sets your makeup in place and will ensure you don't get any greasy or oily moments.

Nicki Minaj

Ms. Minaj rocked the red carpet with a full blonde 'fro and a lot of lovely maquillage. Most of all we're loving her long bubblegum-pink talons which are cool and quirky, just like her. They nearly match her glossy pink lip which is always a winner - you know how we like to match our lips to our tips!

Hayden Panettiere

Pretty Hayden was looking the epitome of chic at the American Music Awards with dewy skin and perfectly arched eyebrows. Her reddy-pink lip suits her eye colour well and notice the subtle cream blush she has gone for to keep her skin looking dewy (powder blushers are much more mattifying). We're dying to know who does her sun-kissed highlights too...

Jessica Biel

Ms. Biel was at the 'Hitchcock' premiere in NYC looking nothing short of fabulous. Ever the glamour-puss, she rocked a brown lip in style along with one of the best fringes we've seen in years. A fringe keeps you looking young and fun and can take years off your face too. We love that she's kept her eye makeup minimal too and focused more on a chic lip and glowing complexion instead.

Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift was the belle of the ball as always and that will be done to her asymmetric face. Another great fringe to note, Ms. Swift has used a touch of golden bronzer to contour her cheek bones and add depth to her face. We're digging her black smoky eye too, always a striking one to pull off, especially at a big event.

Scarlett Johansson

Sexy Scarlett dazzled at the 'Hitchcock' premiere with an on-trend berry red lip and perfect wintery-blonde locks (the trend is now to tone down your blonde comes the chillier months of the year). Like Biel, she's toned down her eye shadow and focused on a dramatic lip instead - perhaps they got ready together?! Loving your work SJ...
