The Best Manicures at Wimbledon Starring Serena Williams And Laura Robson

26 June 2013 by

The official rules state that players must wear white ‘almost entirely’, although judging by some of the colourful fingertips seen on court at Wimbledon this week, it’s clear that tennis’ more fashion-conscious players are more than happy to bend the rules.

Yesterday, queen of the tennis court Serena Williams was seen sporting some seriously elaborately painted nails- with one nail in animal print and one printed with the words ‘Pow!’, maybe Serena’s talons were her weapon of choice to distract unwanted opponents...

British tennis players also followed suit and were seen with equally zesty manicures- Heather Watson displayed a metallic gold design and even wrote on a blog for Benefit, who are one of her sponsors, “As a treat, I recently got my nails done too which was a lovely luxury. I had complete trust in nail extraordinaire Michael Doe… he is so creative!”

What’s more, fluorescent shades were seen on the hands of Laura Robson and Maria Kirilenko, proving that when it comes to fashion, there really is no stopping these ladies!

Now, this isn’t the first year we’ve lusted over players’ mani’s- defending champion Serena Williams has forever been a fan of bold nail art designs when on court- with everything from crystal studs back in June 2010 to metallic purple the following year, us beauty ladies are over the moon to see just how creative our top athletes are becoming!

Talk about a nail-biting round- check out our top Wimbledon manicures in the gallery above and see if you can pick your fave…
