03 March 2014 by

The glitz! The glamour! The dresses! And… the lips. The stars well and truly dazzled on the red carpet at the Oscars last night and us beauty ladies have been swooning over all the gorgeous beauty looks since the early hours of this morning- our beauty magnifying glasses have sure been out in full force! What’s more, we couldn’t help but notice the sea of beautifully pigmented pouts strutting their stuff on the red carpet. Though Sunday’s weather was less than ideal, Hollywood’s most stunning starlets proved that a statement lip colour could do nothing to dampen their Oscars spirits. From Margot Robbie’s deep plum lip to Lupita’s coral pout, we’ve only gone and found out the exact shades used by last night’s leading ladies. All hail the ultimate Oscars Lipstick Breakdown… Get ready to stock up your make-up bag to award winning heights!

1. MARGOT ROBBIE

First up is Wolf Of Wall Street beauty Margot Robbie who last night unveiled a new, darker hue. Whilst us beauty ladies give Ms Robbie’s brunette barnet top marks in the glamour stakes, it’s her deep plum lip colour that’s got us in a real frenzy. Her rich, purple-hued lips were created by layering YSL Rouge Pur Couture Glossy Stain in Violet Edition, £25 with an eyeliner (yes, really) to intensify the colour. The eyeliner? YSL’s Effet Faux Cils Crème D’Eyeliner in Cherry Black, £25. Now that’s what we call some product multi-tasking!

2. LUPITA NYONG'O

What’s not to love about leading lady Lupita’s bright coral hue? Fresh yet sophisticated, glossy yet not too girly, this is the lip shade you should all be trying out for spring. After all, Lupita might just be the beauty queen of the entire awards season, so we reckon she’s on to something. Stock up on Chanel Rouge Allure Luminous Intense Lip Colour in Melodieuse, £25 for an Oscar-winning pout. This, by the way, is Lupita’s lip colour of choice… You read it here first girls!

3. ANNE HATHAWAY

At last year's Oscars, Chanel celebrity makeup artist Kate Lee apparently changed Anne Hathaway's lipstick 3 times in 5 minutes because of last-minute wardrobe decisions. It seems like things were a little less frenzied this year, although we’re still loving Anne’s gorgeous mauve lipstick which really brings out the natural pink of her lips. The shade? Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet Luminous Matte Lip Colour in La Caline, £25. Oh, and take note ladies- a matte shade will always photograph better than a glossy shade. Red carpet beauty, indeed!

4. AMY ADAMS

Hollywood starlet Amy Adams went for a gorgeous, ‘pretty in pink’ shade which was by no means an understated nude. Amy’s pretty yet punchy colour was the nifty work of a clever combo of two of her favourite lip shades- Laura Mercier Rouge Nouveau Weightless Lip Colour In Cozy, £20 topped off with Tom Ford Beauty Ultra Shine Lip Gloss in Rose Crush, £32. Super-sophisticated and oh so glossy, this lip gets our full beauty marks!

5. JULIA ROBERTS

Prime to show off her new blonde tresses, Grazia fave Julia Roberts opted for a stunning sheer pink lipstick which made quite the statement on last night’s red carpet. The shade? No less than Lancôme Rouge in Love in Delicate Lace, £21.50- we love.

6. NAOMI WATTS

Naomi Watts (Grazia Daily)

Nothing spells red carpet glamour more than a deep red lip, right? Blonde beauty Naomi Watts looked every inch the leading lady last night and we can’t wait to try out this deep plum-hued red. Make-up artist Matthew VanLeeuwen was the make-up magic behind Naomi’s look and he started by using Giorgio Armani’s Smooth Silk Lip Pencil, £18 followed by Giorgio Armani Rouge Ecstasy Lipstick in Scarlatto, £26.50. Serious Hollywood glamour, we say.

7. KERRY WASHINGTON

You read it here first girls- burgundy is back this season, big time! So, make like mum-to-be Kerry Washington and embrace a deep wine-hued pout for spring. Make-up artist Carola Gonzalez applied Armani Rouge D’Armani in 609, £26.50 topped with a slick of Neutrogena’s MoistureSmooth Color Stick In Rich Raisin to add a bit of shine. Totally gorgeous- and we love how the plum hue really makes Kerry’s cheekbones pop.
