We've always admired the flawless, L'Oreal-worthy beauty of Beyonce, so you can imagine our excitement when we saw her insider beauty tricks had been revealed by The Cut. The lady behind Bey's beautiful face is Wei Lang, a make-up artist and an uber facialist who has been in the industry for 30 years.
And where did Beyonce find such a gem? Her mum of course! Yes, Miss Tina, as she likes to be known, passed on her trusted make-up artist to her daughter who has enlisted Wei's service since becoming a mum herself (Wei conveniently only does 'at home' appointments).
Being the real girl she is, Beyonce only calls upon Wei for red carpet or other high profile events (she prefers to tend to her own face otherwise). Wei also reveals that the beauty look the singer worked at the Met Ball was her fave 'because I just love the simplicity. She was glowing and it was less about her makeup; you really just saw her and not a mask. Because her hair was so dramatic, we really wanted to keep the makeup simple.'
So how did Wei do it? 'The brows were touched up; I didn’t leave the eyebrows bare. I used a bronze-y cream shadow with very fine sparkles and tapped it on her eyelids. There was brown liner on the bottom lashes and a little winged liner on top with black gel. The one color on her face that popped a lot was the lip, which was an orange lip gloss. Oranges and corals were very big at that time. And it looked right, with her hair all pulled back.'

Wei says she doesn't use a lot of makeup on the singer, but focuses on contouring. 'She has flawless skin, so I don't really want to cover that up,' she says.
2. Face shimmer
Wei reveals she only highlights Beyonce's forehead and under her eyes and occasionally uses a shimmer product.
Apparently, Beyonce reeeally likes liners and mink lashes. But of course! She buys Velour's Are Those Real? strips 'by the ton'.
4. False lashes
Remember that Obama fund-raiser when Bey wore a red dress? Wei says that although they tried false lashes with the look, they decided to remove them because the look was dramatic enough.
