Lipstick Queen Poppy King Shows Us What’s In Her Makeup Bag

14 November 2012 by

The amazing Poppy King started her own lipstick brand in 1992 when she was only 18, because she couldn’t find any lipsticks that she loved. ‘They were all thin, slimy and too greasy feeling. Plus there were no deep colors or browns and most reds went pink. I wanted lipsticks that gave me the look of the 1940’s. Rich, opaque and filled with pigment,’ she explains. 20 years and many many lipsticks later, there’s nothing about the stuff that Poppy doesn’t know. We caught up with the lovely lady earlier this week to find out about the beauty products that she just can’t live without...

Lipstick Queen Red Sinner, £18 – I could even wear this colour on a desert island and still feel glamorous.

NIA Eye Cream – This eye cream guarantees a great hit of hydration around the eyes at any time of day, especially mid-afternoon when you start to lag.

Eburian BB Cream, £35 - The best I have ever found because it’s not as heavy as foundation, but not as light as many other BB creams.

Shu Uemera Eyelash Curler, £20 - The greatest lash curler out there! Super effective and pain-free.

Kevyn Aucoin Concealer, £36 - Takes care of those unexpected little blemishes.

Lipstick Queen Oxymoron in Minor Crisis, £20 – This cream blush is designed for both lips and cheeks and makes both blossom instantly.

Oribe Dry Texturisng Spray, £38 - Perfect for a speedy hair pick me up at the end of day.

Vintage Stratton Hair Comb– I love these combs. Not only are they practical in size they look gorgeous too.

Lipstick Queen range is now available on QVC UK.
