There’s nothing like a bit of metallic make-up to get us beauty ladies all excited for the Christmas party season. After all, what looks better under the mistletoe and twinkling lights than a gleam of gold across the eyes? In fact, Christmas just wouldn’t be Christmas without some kind of molten make-up- effortlessly glamorous and suitably festive, gold eye make-up is really rather gorgeous and looks stunning on any skin tone. We love! What’s more, the super-chic likes of Kim Kardashian and blonde beauty Blake Lively were spied working the look to total perfection last week, providing us with beauty inspiration a plenty. Super-cool Jennifer Lawrence was also seen sporting a gilded eye, so surely that’s proof enough that this is one awesome beauty look for the Christmas hols.

Party-ready? We think so! We’ve fallen head over heels for this gorgeously glam look and reckon it’s the perfect metallic update on the classic smokey eye. The warm golden tones will brighten the complexion and really make blue and brown eyes pop. What’s more, golden eyes were seen all over the Dior SS14 catwalks so this look couldn’t be more on-trend if it tried! Read on for our top tips…

The Kit

In a hurry? A quick flick of Aerin’s Cool Gel Eyeliner in Gilt, £24 will deliver a real pop of colour that is super-smooth and lasts all night. If you have more time on your hands, try applying Chanel’s Illusion D’Ombre in Vision, £24 with a damp brush for a really deep and dramatic finish. We also love Bobbi Brown’s Metallic Eyeshadow in Burnt Sugar, £17 and Urban Decay’s 24/7 Glide On Pencil in Goldmine, £14.

The Golden Rule

For the perfect A-list finish, lightly sculpt cheeks with a wash of bronzer and add a slick of deep berry lipstick to finish the look- total swoon.

The Top Tip

Don’t forget to add plenty of black mascara to really make the look pop.
