Katy Perry and her new fragrance, Killer Queen's Royal Revolution [WWD]
Is a line of Katy Perry nail varnishes on the cards? The 29-year-old singer is known not only for her catchy tunes (and wacky hairstyles) but has also dipped her nib into the beauty ink and has just unveiled her latest scent, Killer Queen’s Royal Revolution. To celebrate the brand-spanking new perfume (out in July), Katy held a fragrance workshop in London on Friday and we can tell you that Ms Perry looked totally dreamy in a blue studded Versace minidress. Way to go, Kezza! However, we were seriously excited when we heard the rumours that Katy might be launching her very own nail range in the not-so-distant future.
Katy's previous fragrance offerings
With 3 fragrances already under her belt, Katy’s latest offering has been dubbed an “irresistible floral”, featuring notes of pomegranate, sandalwood, orange flower, jasmine and vanilla. Smells good to us! Speaking of her new fragrance venture, the singer said, “I’m very curious - whenever I do something, I want to know about the whole process, how it happens - do you take those flowers [in the fragrance] and just steam the oil out? How does that happen, how do you get there? [The fragrances] take up a lot of time, but they’re a very pleasurable experience. They’re very creative, it’s not like I just get handed something. We all kind of dream this up together."
However, it was news of Katy’s impending nail line which got us beauty girls all in a tizz. We loved every single one of Katy’s limited-edition OPI polishes when they launched last year, and can only imagine the totally awesome colours that could be in store for Katy’s future nail range. She said, “I’ve always wanted to venture into nails, but… it hasn’t worked out just right just yet. But I love to show my personality off, whether it’s in the lip colour or nail bed. It’s just like, God is in the details, so I like the little things to be detailed.”

The pop princess also touched upon her current style inspirations, saying she’s currently “'obsessed with Nineties Versace and Chanel'' and likes to channel ''a soft grunge look.'' She added, ''I like Liz Taylor, and I love the spontaneous excitement of Daphne Guinness and the punk rock...of Chloë Sevigny.''
