As facialist Nichola Joss explains, “To achieve the no-make-up aesthetic, skin needs to be clear, glowing and flawless, as you won’t be masking it with lots of coloured pigment.” This Grazia-fave cleanser is a good place to start.

When us beauty girls caught sight of Gwyneth Paltrow’s pared-back beauty yesterday in Hong Kong (Gwynnie’s first ever post-split public event FYI), we awarded our full beauty marks to Paltrow. Why? Well, put it this way- this is some seriously bare-faced chic which is pretty brave considering the majority of Gwynnie’s A-list entourage mark their new-found singledom with a pixie cut, wacky hair colour, etc. Trust all-natural, organic-loving, Goop founder Gwyneth to rock a glowing, flawless face of no make-up, make-up. Way to go, Gwynnie!

Paltrow recently opened up about her beauty routine in an interview with E!News, revealing that it’s “very minimal,” and only a couple of weeks ago posted her very own no make-up selfie to Instagram. Whether the 41-year-old’s radiant glow is down to her gluten-free diet, good genes or a stellar BB cream, we still think she looks ah-maz-ing. She said, “After I drop my kids, I always exercise and then I take a shower and I basically just put on moisturizer -- and that's kind of it," she explained. "If I have a meeting or something I'll put on some mascara, but that's as far as I go."

Gwyneth’s bare-faced beauty is actually bang on-trend, too, according to last week’s issue of Grazia. As contributing beauty editor Poppy Lara explains, “We’re in the throes of a bright make-up backlash this season, where barely-there formulas and ‘superskin’ are the look du jour. The best thing is that thanks to a whole host of new products, normal types (i.e., not models, not 19 years old) can successfully navigate the no make-up make-up look to great effect.”
