Fresh faced complexions backstage on the Burberry beauty campaign (Burberry)
When Burberry first unveiled their beauty line back in 2010, we were beyond excited to get our hands on such hot fash-beauty property. After all, with 96 items in the initial collection, ranging from gorgeous nail colours to the chicest lipsticks we’ve ever seen, this was a seriously exciting upgrade to our make-up bags if ever we’ve seen one. Ever since that initial launch, we’ve always turned to Burberry beauty when we want classic, no-frills, gorgeously timeless make-up, so you can only imagine how excited we were to hear that Burberry will also be launching a skincare range. Hurrah!
Season in, season out, fresh, dewy complexions are pretty much a constant on the Burberry catwalks so we can only but dream of the brand’s new skincare offerings. With the launch date yet to be confirmed, us beauty girls are taking the opportunity to get all hyped up. Read on for our predictions...
1. Inspiration will come from the Burberry trenchcoat
Inspiration for the brand’s cosmetic collection stemmed from the iconic Burberry trenchcoat. At the time of the launch, chief creative officer Christopher Bailey, said, “Like the trenchcoat, it can be worn anywhere and at any time.” We can only imagine the new skincare will be the same- lightweight, wearable formulas and the day creams will boast a stellar SPF content.
2. Expertise will come from a Japanese skincare expert
Burberry have always had strong ties with the Asian market and Christopher Bailey hinted that the new range would be formulated in line with a skincare expert. With the likes of Asian super-facialist Su-Man and Japanese brands like Shiseido and Sai-Sei already making causing quite the stir in the skincare world, we’re excited to see what Bailey has in store for his new Burberry venture.

3. The packaging will be totally gorgeous
Burberry beauty might have some of the prettiest packaging we’ve ever seen- sleek, silver and embossed with the iconic tartan pattern; this is the kind of make-up we are proud to be seen applying on the bus. Will the skincare range be the same? We can but hope…
4. Stellar ingredients
Burberry beauty’s cult product, the Fresh Glow Fluid Base, is known for its glow-giving properties. It’s all thanks to wild rose, which soothes and perfects for the ultimate dewy finish. We reckon Burbs’ new cleansers and creams will be jam-packed with all-natural ingredients, too- think rose, coconut oil, geranium and camomile.
5. Handbag-friendly products
Is it just us, or do the Burberry models always have the most delectably kissable pouts? Looking into our beauty crystal ball, we can only but foresee an amazing lip balm in the skincare collection to boot.
