If, like the majority of Grazia HQ, your girl crush on Blake Lively runs pretty deep (hey, we don’t blame you) then you might just love what we’ve got lined up for you this morning. The ever-gorgeous Blake popped up at a Van Cleef & Arpels party last night sporting a *drumroll* ombré lip!

Trust Ms Lively to prove that a high-fashion look can actually be totally wearable off the catwalk. The trend, which we first fell in love with at the Dolce & Gabbana Autumn Winter 2013 show, is perfectly festive especially when teamed with vintage-esque, glossy waves and luscious lashes.

There’s no denying that 2013 has been one heck of a year for our good friend ombré. With its gorgeous fade from light to dark, this super-cool hue has worked its way from fashion to hair and has now ended up smack on Blake Lively’s lips, and we just love. Why? Well, the overall effect is not only pretty and modern at the same time, but this clever technique will do wonders to highlight the natural contour of your lip. What’s more, there’s just something a little effortless and less “done” than a full-on berry lipstick, and we think this edgier beauty look really works for our Blake, who has become synonymous with the sunny LA-girl look.

Want in? Just remember the golden rule and arm yourself with a good lip brush and lip liner. Simply line your lips in your chosen colour (make like Blake and go for a deep burgundy liner) and blend, blend, blend the colour towards the centre of your lips. For a more intense finish, use the lip liner over a matching lipstick. The key is to use two shades in the same colour family and they should gradually fade into each other for a winning ombré effect. Time to get involved, girls!
