To say that we have a long standing girl crush on Kate Moss would be putting it mildly. We heart her. With a career spanning two decades, the style icon of our generation just keeps on getting better. Who didn’t rush out and buy a pair of Calvin Kleins after that Mark Wahlberg campaign? We have her to thank for our skinny jean and ugg boot combo and she is responsible for the wardrobe inspiration of a whole army of festival goers. It’s no surprise that we were beside ourselves with excitement when we took a look back at her best beauty moments….
1) Au Naturel
Back in the day, she was the poster girl for fresh faced beauty. It could have been the champagne filled baths she was having with Johnny Depp (er, yes please) or most likely, as make-up artist and bestie, Charlotte Tilbury tells us: “Kate has the most incredible features: the perfect almond-shaped eyes, beautiful heart-shaped lips and those killer cheekbones. I always say ‘good bones can never look bad’, they are the coat hangers that support the rest of your face. She really understands how to maximise her assets and look after her skin.”
2) Rock Locks
From platinum pixie crop to golden Hollywood curls, this style chameleon has tried them all but for us, Kate is all about her dishevelled rock n’ roll waves. Her secret? She tells us the new Coiffage Couture range by Kerastase "has some really great products, but my favourite will definitely be the SPRAY-A-PORTER. It really allows you to get that tousled, just off the beach look."
3) The Beautiful And The Damned
Rarely seen without her sexy feline flick of eyeliner it’s no surprise she is the iconic face of London cool. Kate’s 30th birthday party at Claridges was for us, as much about her smoky eyes and blue sequins as it was about the debauched antics of the guests.
4) VIP Tan
In our eyes there is no Glastonbury without Kate, she’s a lesson in how to effortlessly pull off wading through mud with unwashed hair whilst maintaining a supermodel strut. It helps if your boyfriend is the headline act and you are staying in a 5* Winnebago but we’re willing to overlook these small details. Kate loves her tan, whilst hers is achieved by a few weeks aboard a luxury yacht moored off the South of France. We will be applying St Tropez self tan mousse, from £20.43, before we pack our Celia Birtwell tents.
5) Signature Lips
The only exception to Kate’s eyeliner/nude pout is a slick of scarlet lipstick. Seen here, she was the epitome of nineties red carpet minimalism, today she is more likely to work her signature matt red lips with mused up hair. As the face of Rimmel, it was inevitable she’d develop her own range of lipsticks. Get her look with Kate Moss Lasting Finish Matte Lipstick in 107, £5.49.
