It’s been a big and beautiful year for the gorgeous Anne Hathaway. Waay back last April we doffed our hats to the star for her very admirable dedication to her art when she chopped, or should we say shaved, off all (and we mean ALL) of her luscious brown hair for the role of Fantine in new movie ‘Les Miserables.’
And as 2012 progressed, we watched the ever-stylish star as her new “do” grow into a longer crop. As it happened, whole process made us realise how much we love a pixie. Michelle Williams, Carey Mulligan, Mia Farrow and Emma Watson have all demonstrated exactly how to rock a gamine 'do. And there’s no denying that Anne looks equally fabulous with her with her shorter-than-short style, which frames her gorgeous features just so.
One thing's for sure: it can’t have been easy to chop off those long and luscious locks. If anyone can challenge Kate Middleton on the gorgeous blowout stakes, it's Anne. Her red carpet blowouts really were the bee’s knees. Of course, Anne has sported short hair for a role before – the actress underwent several style transformations when playing the role of Emma in the adaptation of David Nicholls’ novel, ‘One Day’. But rather than taking the chop, she wore a series of wigs to create the different looks.
But hair issues aside, Anne has also used the last twelve months to proves exactly how diverse your beauty looks can be - even when you’ve got a haircut that is a little limited on the styling front. Miss Hathaway seems to have trialled every trend from hot red lips, to smoky eyes and sleek liner. The day before yesterday was a case in point, as Miss Hathaway stepped out at the 85th Academy Awards Nominees Luncheon, in LA wearing a trully delectible hot pink lip. And Anne has clearly been swatting up on her spring summer 2013 beauty trends, because the word backstage this season was that pink is in fact the new red. The hue graced eyes lips and cheeks at Giles, Mark Fast, Topshop Unique and plenty of others too. “Pink is such big news this season because it’s a bit more fresh, fun and youthful than a full-on sexy red. It feels really new and modern.” explains face painter Mel Arter.
