Ruth Crilly has been an international model for over ten years, working alongside some of the world’s hottest beauty and fashion experts on campaigns for Patrick Cox, Olay and Myla to name a few. Over the course of her stellar career, Ruth has clearly picked up a trick or two from makeup artists, and now dishes out daily doses of expert advice on her blog, A Model Recommends, which receives over a million views every month.
We love Ruth’s fresh approach to beauty and couldn’t wait to catch up with her about the products she just can’t live without. Ruth says, “There's always quite an eclectic mix going on in my makeup bag - I'm constantly trying out new things, but I also have my firm favourites. I like a very natural but perfected look, which is probably clear from the products below!”
By Terry Sheer Expert Foundation, £44: An all-time favourite. Very pricey, but, for me, worth every penny. It has a bouncy, youthful texture and smells utterly divine!
Clarins Eye Mask, £30.50: has become an almost daily treat! I'm pretty sure that I'm overusing in, but early mornings-plus-late nights mean that I definitely need extra help in the eye area.
Clarins Gloss Prodige in Waterlily, £17: I eat more of this than ends up on my lips, but I think that's a compliment...
Urban Decay 24/7 Concealer in FBI, £12: A convenient draw-on concealer that blends smoothly and stays put all day. Makeup bag essential.
Chanel Powder Brush, £44: Plush and suitably chic for those "makeup on the Eurostar" sessions.
Dior Nudeskin Powder in Sunlight (002), £37: Two parts subtle bronze, one part healthy blush. Foolproof enlivening for the face.
Real Techniques Expert Face Blush, £11.99: Gives an absolutely flawless foundation finish. I'm at a loss without this now.
YSL Babydoll Mascara (Purple) - one of my "on trial" products because it doesn't launch for a few weeks, yet, but it's gorgeous. Full, dark, separated lashes and no annoying fall-out specks.
